Hafsa Ghais Qasim is a home based contemporary artist with a keen interest in Islamic calligraphic art. She started in the field of art at a very young age and developed her skills in sketching. She learned visual arts from Karachi School of Arts at the age of 20 and experimented with sculpting, painting, abstract, and calligraphy. She later found abstract and calligraphy to be her strong suit.
Hafsa uses canvas to sketch the different verses from Quran. She then applies acrylic and/or oil paints as medium to beautify the paintings. She uses Naksh style of calligraphy with abstract or scenic designs in background to enhance the details of the verse. This creates a surreal experience for viewers and art appreciators.
