IAS Artist Shaheen Rahman conducted an Ebru workshop at the Jung Center, Houston on the 15th of June 2019.
Ebru, the Turkish art of paper-marbling, traces its roots to the Silk Road. The practice involves painting on the surface of water, using specialized tools to create exquisite patterns, including flora and fauna. The water painting is then transferred onto paper. We will learn basic techniques of the ancient Islamic art form and leave the workshop with several unique pieces. All materials will be provided.
Shaheen Rahman is an Ebru and watercolor artist. Her artwork has been on display all around Houston. She has conducted Ebru presentations and workshops at venues like NASA’s Johnson Space Center, Asia Society, and the Pearl Fincher Museum
